The English Language Academy is a rigorous non-credit certificate program offering intensive English-as-a-second-language (ESL) courses at five levels of language proficiency: foundations, intermediate, high-intermediate, advanced and university bridge. Full-time students study in four skill-area courses: writing and word processing, reading and vocabulary development, grammar and listening and speaking. There are approximately 135 ELA students from 20 to 30 countries each term; their average age is 26, and 75 percent hold university degrees from their home countries.
