The Center for Justice in Capital Cases (CJCC) at the College of Law was created to act as a training center both for capital defense attorneys in Illinois and to train law students in a clinical setting. In addition to providing continuing legal education, and to working on death penalty cases with students, CJCC will also create manuals and model pleadings which will be available to lawyers in Illinois defending death penalty cases. CJCC sees its mission as creating a higher standard of practice in the capital arena both through vigorous advocacy, cutting edge work in the legal and social science arena and a client-centered philosophy.
