BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

The Master of Arts degree in Biology is designed for students who:
  • Have a strong desire to increase their understanding of the life sciences, in preparation for attending professional schools, in the health or environmental sciences.
  • Want additional education at the master's level for increased proficiency in teaching.
The Master of Science degree in Biology is designed for students who:
  • Are interested in conducting original research.
  • Plan research related careers in industry or academia
  • Plan to seek a PhD.

Mostly days, but some evening courses are offered. (The program is designed for fulltime daytime graduate students.)

Number of Courses/Credits to Complete Degree
The MA program is 50 credits, and the MS program is 52 credits

Admission Requirements
Equivalent of DePaul's undergraduate biology degree.

Financial Support
A limited number of teaching assistantships with tuition waivers are available.

Career Possibilities
Our students get research positions at academic institutions and in the biomedical industry, attend professional schools in dentistry, medicine, or veterinary science, enter PhD programs or seek teaching credentials.
