School of Public Service

DePaul's School of Public Service, the largest graduate program in LA&S, was established in 1970 and became its own school in 2007. Faculty members teach leaders of nonprofit and government organizations critical thinking and policy analysis as well as practical management skills valued in the public and nonprofit sectors.

The School of Public Service (SPS) offers its flagship degree-the M.S. in Public Service Management in a completely online format. The online degree uses the same curriculum and faculty as the face-to-face version. Faculty present course material pairing an innovative mix of asynchronous learning (discussion boards in the Blackboard course management system) with faculty-directed synchronous learning (Wimba Live Classroom technology). Faculty encourage online students to register for all SPS courses-online, in Chicago, and abroad-with permission of their advisors.

The ideal applicant will have at least two years of work experience after the bachelor degree and daily access to high speed internet. As part of the public service management degree, students can choose from eight concentrations.
