The Public Policy program's curriculum introduces students to key public policy concerns in the areas of Environmental Studies and Urban Studies, identifies fundamental conceptual tools in the development and evaluation of public policies, and provides a grounding in basic policy research methods.

Students who major in Public Policy Studies have a variety of career options. Traditionally, this has been a field leading to work in governmental settings, but in recent years the proliferation of community-based organizations and other non-profit groups has opened up new occupational opportunities for students with training in specific public policy fields or public policy analysis.

Public Policy is also a useful undergraduate major for students intending to pursue graduate training in law, business, the social sciences, as well as various specialized policy areas. For example, DePaul?s graduate Public Services Program might be of interest to students seeking advanced training in the management of non-profit and governmental organizations.
