IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION

Students enrolled as non-degree seeking or student-at-large:

In general, if you are enrolled in a non-degree or student-at-large status, you are not eligible for federal, state, or institutional aid at DePaul University.  Most non-degree students pursue private educational loans or other forms of educational financing to cover educational costs as a non-degree students.

Special Program Exceptions:

There are a few restricted conditions in which non-degree students may receive limited federal student loan funding:

Post-baccalaureate students completing undergraduate prerequisites for entry in a graduate program:

If you have received your bachelor’s degree, and you are returning as an undergraduate in order to complete undergraduate prerequisite coursework to prepare for admission into a graduate program, you may be eligible to borrow undergraduate level federal student loans for documented required coursework.  For more information, see Applying for Financial Aid and DePaul Form Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Preparatory Coursework: Prerequisite Documentation and Review Form.

Post-baccalaureate students completing undergraduate requirements for teaching certification:

If you are returning for post-baccalaureate teacher certification coursework, you may be eligible to borrow undergraduate level federal student loans.To qualify, your coursework must be required for elementary or secondary teacher certification or recertification in the state where you plan to teach.  For more information, see Applying for Financial Aid and DePaul Form Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Preparatory Coursework: Prerequisite Documentation and Review Form.

Continuing Education Non-Credit Students:

If you are enrolled in non-credit Continuing Professional Education courses, we are unable to consider you for federal, state, institutional aid, or private loans, as these forms of aid are not available for non-credit programs of study.
