Byrne Hall contains the
American Studies program, the Center for Community & Organization Development, the
Community Mental Health Center, the
physics and
psychology departments, the
Sexual Harassment Policy Office and the
Women's and Gender Studies program. Also offers five separate computer labs for student usage.
Opened in 1907 and formerly known as the College Building, and later, Academy Building, Byrne Hall was renamed after Rev. Peter Vincent Byrne, C/M/ in 1976, DePaul's first president (1899 – 1909). Underwent a $2.2 million renovation in 1979. Built on the site of the original St. Vincent’s Church and DePaul College.
