The $14.8-million, state-of-the-art fitness center, built on the site of the former Lyceum Building, opened in September 1999 and was named after DePaul's head basketball coach (1942-1984) Ray Meyer.

The Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center provides the DePaul community with 120,000-square feet of fitness and recreation participation opportunities. The four-story center features three racquetball courts, strength conditioning equipment, a spin studio, four separate group fitness and instructional studios, four basketball/volleyball courts/badminton courts and a 25-yard, six-lane lap and recreational pool. The fourth floor of the center features a four lane, 1/8 mile jogging track that overlooks the basketball courts (located on the third level), not to mention a spectacular view of our beautiful Lincoln Park campus.

The Center also features the popular Bean Café, for healthy refreshments before or after your workout, the Wellness Center, and Campus Recreation Department offices.
