Campus life at DePaul is never dull. With the whole city of Chicago just outside your door, and a host of university organizations and activities, your time at DePaul will be full - inside and outside of the classroom.

Campus Organizations

DePaul offers something for everyone. Whether you're interested in being a DJ, or running for office, there's an extracurricular activity for you. Each year the Organization Fair introduces new students to DePaul's extensive mix of campus activities. Representatives of more than 120 academic clubs, student organizations, special interest groups, honor societies, fraternities and sororities gather to provide information, answer questions and welcome new members. Participation in extracurricular activities - especially academic clubs - is one more way you can explore various fields of interest.

DePaul offers nearly 200 activities and organizations, such as our literary magazine, radio station, newspaper, yearbook, choral groups, drama club, jazz band, student government, academic organizations, ethnic clubs, honorary academic groups, special interest clubs, debate team, and community service organizations.

Intercollegiate Athletics

Enthusiastic students organized DePaul’s first sports team just two years after the university was founded; the Blue Demons have inspired a passionate following ever since. A member of the BIG EAST Conference, DePaul competes at the NCAA Division 1 level in 13 sports: men’s and women’s basketball, cross-country, soccer, tennis, and track and field; women’s softball and volleyball; and men’s golf.

DePaul teams and athletes have appeared in NCAA post-season competitions 28 times in the past decade, including four trips to the Women’s College World Series in softball and a Sweet 16 appearance by the women’s basketball team in 2005.

The Sullivan Athletic Center houses the DePaul Athletics Department and McGrath Arena, home to women's basketball and volleyball. The building also includes practice, training and fitness facilities for student athletes. Wish Field is home field for Blue Demon men's and women’s soccer, while the softball team competes at Cacciatore Stadium.
